I just bought a house in Tempe which was built in ’55. The house is block and it has steel framed windows which need to be up graded. About 6 years ago the house was sheathed in 1″ foam board and wire and stuccoed. The windows should have been replaced then but they were not, so now I will have a giant mess if I try to remove the frames.
What I want to do is remove the glazing, cut off the stiles and leave the steel flange (which is approximately 1″) Then I want to have you build a window with a 1″ flange that I can insert through the opening and screw your flange to the old steel frame. Is this something we can discuss?
